COVID19?

So today is April 8, 2020. We still do not have flying cars or anything of the sort, you would think we would be more advanced but the only cool thing about this year is Apple fixed their bug and we can now face time with multiple people at the same time. It feels like instead of moving forward to bigger and better things we have reverted to the stone ages, what am I talking about? let me share with you what this new year has brought us. COVID19, which basically stands for Corona Virus 2019. Apparently brought to us by the nice people of Wuhan, China. There are so many jokes but I will spare you those. So we are literally quarantined. Schools shut down somewhere around the second week of March, and we began online distance learning, a makeshift home school of all things. Can I just say there is a reason I did not go into that field, this has been a mission and we are only on day 3 of it. So let me go back to a month ago when things were scary but we were still out and about enjoying our normal life. So we started hearing about it and thought wow thats horrible thank God it wont affect us, our amazing President (thou which will not be named) promised and almost swore we had nothing to worry about, that should have been our first real sign of danger, anyways kids were still in school parents were still working and we were just watching it unfold. Then it jumped to Italy, you know everyone travels and usually just brings their luggage. Well this was the exception, now they were not only bringing luggage in the form of clothes and toiletries, nope they were carrying the deadly virus that no one really knew anything about. So it jumped from Italy to the great United States of America. The schools then shut down but it was so scary we all knew we were in for trouble when they shut down Disneyland and then canceled baseball and basketball season as well. This was very concerning, we heard from our Church leaders, that was also canceled. We waited to hear what else they were canceling and it just seemed to go one thing after another after another, with the closing of everything we were familiar with came more concerns and fear. Now closed are all beaches, parks, congregations, schools, movie theaters any business that is non essential is closed. No more hair appointments or nail appointments. Life as we knew it came to a halt, like a complete halt. The shop is still open, so Ricky works, it's scary. When he comes home I have the shower running he gets undressed at the door, clothes go in a laundry basket straight to the washer, then jumps in the shower. This is our routine daily now. I finally stopped working on Saturday, I was way too stressed thinking I would bring something home to the kids. At work we were no longer doing face to face appointments instead our clients were doing drop offs but guess who they saw to do that and to pick up their tax returns, yup me. I was trying to hold out until the end of tax season but Lincoln had another fever and I was done. Ever since the kids were out of school, Damian was watching them while Ricky and I worked. Way too much responsibility for a 12 year old thats for sure. So I am home now cooking and cleaning and teaching, ha ha, wish them and I luck. It's been raining the last couple days, they say that the next two weeks in California will be the worst. Our numbers are supposed to be ridiculous, so we are trying to take every precaution to ensure we will all be safe. We are spending much more time together trying to adapt to our new life. School will be closed for the rest of the school year. It's so cool to see the positive stuff that is going on around us too, like Mother Nature is taking over and I can't help but feel like this is much more of a cleansing than anything. The parks and waters are covered with wildlife, its so awesome to see peoples video of these animals taking back what was once theirs. The smog from everywhere is almost completely gone. The most we can do for now is pray for everyone around the world. Our county just gave us new orders, if we are to go out, it is only for essential things and we must wear some type of face masks. The kids are holding it together pretty well with their lives changed over night as well. Lincoln and Mason havent been outside our property for a month now. The other boys went out once to pick up their chromebooks, because they had to sign them out. They have been doing Yoga as part of their PE work, they wake up do their school work, do their chores and then hang out the rest of the day, there is only so much they can do inside so we have been more lenient with their xboxs, which I still hate. I have been baking more for them, they are enjoying that part as well. We are also in the middle of weeding the front and back yard, we are trying to start our garden, we don't know how much longer we will be have to stay put so we want to at least get something started in case this gets worse and they start closing stores. We have been able to get groceries but not as easy as it was before. There is a huge shortage of toilet paper, rice, lysol, handsanitizer, face masks and essentials are limited at the stores, eggs, milk, bread. We luckily got a new freezer before the craze really hit and were lucky enough to stock it, no problem. Ricky is thinking within the next week or so he will be done working. I know this will be in the history books one day, I just can't believe we are going through this. It still seems so unreal, like straight out of a book. Till we meet again, bye guys!
I made Rainbow spaghetti for the boys lunch.

Boys bday party

Sorry for the back to back posts but I have so much to catch up with that I don't want to miss a single thing. We decided to have a joint party for the boys because it just made sense, the weather would be great and it would be one big party instead of three smaller ones, and it worked out perfectly. We had the party on 9/8/12 Jacob's actual 2nd bday (worked out nicely). We put lots of work into making this party a hit for the boys. I painted some of the stuff and even Jackie (Ricky's sister) helped out! She was the one to give me the idea on the centerpieces and they turned out adorable. There was even a car painting station that the kids enjoyed. So here are some of the pictures.

Happy Blogging

Today was super fun it was Damian's first school trip and it was so much fun, and best part was being able to go on the trip with him.We went to Boulder Creek Ranch (pumpkin patch)  I have to confess I'm such a big baby as we boarded the bus and were driving off I had to hold tears back, it just made me realize how fast my boys are growing. I can't believe he is going to be five next month. To see him being able to do stuff on his own and watch him have conversations with his friends is amazing. He is not a little baby anymore. (tear) Anyways, back to the trip he got to pick a very cute pumpkin and he tasted roasted pumpkin seeds, he also got to go on a hay ride and check out all the cool (smelly) horses, donkeys, chickens, goats and cats (weird huh). We ended the trip with lunch on the grass then back on the bus and off to school. Julian and Jacob stayed with "Tia Monica", a true godsend that cousin of mine! They had tons of fun playing with their new cat "He

Last day of 2021

Goodbye 2021 and welcome 2022. We are ending this year sick, possibly COVID sick. We had family over for Christmas and somehow most of us ended up sick. Ricky and  I took the kids to get tested early this morning in Fontana. How early? we woke up at 5 and were out of the house by 5:30, we got to Kaiser by 6:30 and the line was already insane. After two hours we finally tested and left. Now to wait, since we are in quarantine I am cooking New Years Eve dinner. I've tried looking everywhere for new years decorations but everything's sold out. Trying to make this day memorable for the boys last minute is not easy. Ok so update time.... Damian, he turned 14 this year. His voice has deepened and he is so much taller now. He is in the 8th grade, his last year at Vanguard. We are so excited to watch him grow and mature. He's so handsome and smart. He played soccer this year and of course football. Grades are really good and he's still being an awesome big brother. He loves p
